The workshop gave the students a better understanding of software and students were able to use the sketch up tools in the design process. Students were also trained on the knowledge of sketch up as an effective presentation tool to explain their design concepts. The software training workshop was conducted in association with expert persons from the field.
Architect Shri. D. Architect Shri. D. Ramakrishnan embarked on the lecture with a theoretical approach to design highlighting the various Elements of Architecture and with a series of visuals and clarified the principles deployed in the design. The introductory session was followed by the sketching workshop where the basic principles of perspective drawing, sciography and rendering techniques were demonstrated. Drawing sheets and the required sketching equipments were distributed to students and the students practiced the techniques taught by the instructor.
In this line of events the Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design (CAAD), a seminar on ‘Prospects for B.Arch., Education’ was conducted on 25th April 2015 at the Rajamannaraiah Hall at CAAD premises in the honourable presence of Prof. Dr. V. R. Rajendran, Vice Chancellor, Vinayaka Missions.
Architect Shri.R. Vijendranath presented slides of stunning buildings featured in the movies in sequences and narrated how the built-form complimented the storyline by highlighting the most obvious features that a human mind captures without much effort. Additionally he elaborated the features of the building giving an technical outlook to the slides under deliberation.
As Part of the CAAD’s Course Curriculum, Students visited the following places of Mahabalipuram – Five Rathas, Shore Temple, Arjuna’s Penance and Krishna’s Butter Ball. Practical experience made our Students to understand Pallava Temple Architecture.
In this line of events, a one day training programme was conducted on ‘Personality Development’ by renowned Psychologist Shri. Muthiah Ramanathan on 14th March 2015. The traning exposed the students to proven scientific techniques of excelling in given taks. The programme introduced the means of achieving behavioural changes and also reinforced the value system and ethics in the young minds.
Mr.Selvakumar presented the challenges at site while implementing the large scale projects and explained the design decisions that were adopted to further the project without compromising the design intent. He deliberated on the advanced technologies deployed in the projects and also the huge quantum of services which make these projects functional.
As Part of the CAAD’s course curriculum, Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design’s students visited the Cholamandal Artists’ Village to do a case study on artist’s residences on 26th February 2015.
The speaker shared numerous issues pertaining to planning which can be addressed by buildings designed with a sense of responsibility towards the society, and sensitivity to the site. Mr.Doss enlightened the students about the about the various skills they develop in their course of study which enables them to be successful in the field of town planning.
