A series of workshops and seminars are conducted at CAAD for experiential learning and eminent speakers and professionals in the field of architecture are invited to address the students constantly bridging the gap between the architecture education and the field expectations of the profession.
In this line of events the Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design (CAAD), conducted a “Free Sketching Workshop for students having appeared for +2 Examinination and aspiring to join B.Arch.,” on 2nd May 2015.
The commencement function of the sketching workshop was conducted at the Rajamannaraiah Hall at CAAD premises in the honourable presence of Prof. Dr. V. R. Rajendran, Vice Chancellor, Vinayaka Missions University. Prof. Vinodh Vijayakumar, Director – Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design delivered an opening address on the scope of Architecture as a profession. Prof. Vinodh highlighted that ‘Architecture is an elite profession that enables an individual to start his own practice immediately after graduation and at the same time provide him with the requisite skills to be a great team player working in an establishment’
The skectching workshop was conducted at the air conditioned training hall at CAAD where Mr.Vinoth Kumar, Art Studio Instructior handled the session providing tips to succeed in the NATA (National Apitude Test in Architecture). The introductory session was followed by the sketching workshop where the basic principles of perspective drawing, sciography and rendering techniques were demonstrated. Drawing sheets and the required sketching equipments were distributed to students and the students practiced the techniques taught by the instructor.
The students had a break for lunch and the workshop came to a closure with refreshments and high tea.
