As incessant rains have hit the people of Chennai severely, free bus services were in operation for the flood-hit people from various parts of the Chennai as part of CAAD – Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design Community Outreach Program.

Studio Malaysia Programme

As a part of second year 4th Semester curriculum students visited CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Tharamani, Chennai on 4th March 2016 to gain knowledge about the innovative building materials and construction techniques on different components of buildings developed by the research organizations.

Rural Documentation

Students got exposure to the methodology of conducting various surveys covering physical, visual characteristics and socio economic aspects. They were able to understand the vernacular and traditional architecture involving local building materials and construction techniques.

CAAD Facuties outing to Chokhi Dhani

On 25 Nov 2016, at the ending of the semester, all the faculty members enjoyed a recreational visit to Chokhi Dhani, a themed resort on the outskirts of Chennai. The place showcased the experience of Rajasthan brought down south, with regional food, folk arts and performing arts presented to their visitors.
