EXPLORATION OF THE PALLAVAN ARCHITECTURE

The students of Batch 2021 documented the Pallava Architecture through a rapid freehand live sketching at Kailasanathar temple. This visit helped them to witness the different architectural elements and the level of detailing of Pallavan Architecture.

HIKE TO GINGEE FORT

The students of Batch 2021 had an expedition to one of the surviving forts in Tamilnadu – The Gingee fort. 

They were able to grasp knowledge about the architectural style of the fort through experience of spaces. The fort complex had different styles in its various spaces because of its invasion of different kingdoms. 

Students were able to identify and learn the different styles and documented them through photos and sketches.

CASE STUDY VISIT TO MY FIRST SCHOOL At THIRUVANNAMALAI

The students of Batch 2021 visited the MY FIRST SCHOOL at Thiruvannamalai designed by the Biome Environmental Solutions. 

Students were able to experience the learning spaces designed as climate responsive and using vernacular materials. 

LIVE CASE STUDY OF LIBRARY AT THE RAMANA ASHRAM, THIRUVANNAMALAI

Students of Batch 2021 visited the Library building in the Ramana Ashram campus at Thiruvannamalai designed by the GNA Architects, Bengaluru. 

The building had a circular plan with stacks arranged at the periphery and the seating towards the centre. The reading spaces are lit by the central atrium which is skylit.
